After making waves at the Bollywood box office, Chhaava is now gearing up for a grand release in Telugu, presented by Geetha Arts Distribution. Directed by Laxman Utekar, this historical drama stars Rashmika Mandanna as the female lead.

The much-awaited Telugu trailer was unveiled today, offering a glimpse into the epic tale of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. Following the death of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the Maratha Empire faces the growing threat of Mughal domination. However, his legacy endures through his son, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, played with fierce intensity by Vicky Kaushal. His powerful line, “The lion may be gone, but his cub still hunts in the jungle,” sets the tone for the film, as he leads relentless guerrilla warfare against his enemies. Akshaye Khanna takes on the role of the cunning Mughal emperor Aurangzeb, while Rashmika Mandanna portrays Yesubai, Sambhaji’s noble and resilient wife.

Vicky Kaushal delivers a commanding performance, fully embodying the valor and spirit of Sambhaji Maharaj. His presence on screen, coupled with impactful dialogues, makes for a gripping experience. Akshaye Khanna and Rashmika Mandanna also make strong impressions in their respective roles.

AR Rahman’s stirring background score enhances both the emotional and action-packed moments, while the battle sequences bring the fierce warrior spirit of the Marathas to life. The film’s meticulous attention to detail in costumes, makeup, and production design creates an immersive historical experience. Cinematographer Saurabh Goswami (ISC) crafts visually stunning frames, elevating the storytelling to another level.

With immense anticipation already surrounding the Telugu release, the trailer has only amplified the excitement. Chhaava is set for a grand theatrical release in Telugu on March 7, 2025.
