It was recently reported that National Award-winning Sandalwood star Rishab Shetty will be playing the lead role in an ambitious pan-India period drama produced under the Sithara Entertainments banner. Set in 18th-century Bengal, the as-yet-untitled period film marks the Kantara actor’s second pan-India project in Tollywood after Jai Hanuman.
Meanwhile, the ongoing buzz in film circles reveals that Rishab Shetty is being offered a massive remuneration of Rs 55 crore by Sithara Entertainments’ Naga Vamsi. If true, this marks Rishab’s highest remuneration to date and is three times higher than what he gets in Sandalwood.
Rishab was reportedly paid Rs 2 crore to act in and direct Kantara. Following the film’s mammoth success, Rishab’s remuneration shot up to Rs 12 crore for the Kantara prequel. The Rs 55 crore paycheck for Sithara’s pan-India biggie makes him one of the highest-paid Kannada stars of all time.
