The differences between the Producers Council and the Telugu Film Industry Employees’ Federation (TFIEF) led to Telugu film shoots coming to a halt. The issue began with the Employees’ Federation demanding a 30% increase in wages. It’s been 10 days, and the issue is yet to be resolved.
Multiple meetings have been going on for the past few days among all parties to resolve the matter as soon as possible. Now, the Producers Council once again sat with the TFIEF to arrive at an amicable solution, but unfortunately, talks have failed. The Producers Council proposed a raise for lower-paid workers, tied to working conditions, and TFIEF rejected this offer straightaway, and the strike will continue.
With no clarity on when the shootings will resume, the strike will continue to cause significant loss to many projects under production. Today’s meeting in the Film Chamber was attended by its president, Bharath Bhushan, Secretary Damodhar Prasad, Treasurer Prasanna Kumar.
From the Employees Federation, Coordination Chairman Veera Shankar, President Anil Vallabhaneni, General Secretary Ammiraju, Treasurer Alex, Women’s Production Head Lalitha, and others attended the meeting.
From the Producers Council, Dil Raju, C. Kalyan, Bhogavalli Bapineedu, Achanta Gopinath, Tagore Madhu, Mythri CEO Cherry, Gemini Kiran, S.K.N., Supriya Yarlagadda, Vivek Kuchibotla, Sravanthi Ravi Kishore, Director Teja, Y.V.S. Chowdary, Rama Satyanarayana, and others attended the meeting.
