The teaser of Tiger Shroff’s Baaghi 4 dropped recently, and it received extremely negative reactions for mimicking the style of Animal and Marco 2. Many felt that the brutal and gory action was inserted intentionally to replicate Animal’s success by selling violence.
Directed by Kannada filmmaker A. Harsha, the film’s theatrical trailer was unveiled today. It starts on a promising note, introducing the hero’s illness as he hallucinates a girl named Alisha. People around him say that Alisha doesn’t exist and that she is only in his delusional mind.
Just when the plot seems interesting, the impact is derailed by over-the-top and irritating action sequences as Baaghi 4 tries to be a wannabe Animal. According to the trailer, Tiger Shroff has a love story that ends miserably, with his lady love, played by former Miss Universe Harnaaz Sandhu, getting killed.
From here, the action portion takes over, and the sequences are staged in such an exaggerated manner that every frame reminds us of the Ranbir Kapoor starrer. From Tiger Shroff to Sonam Bajwa to Sanjay Dutt to Harnaaz Sandhu, every actor is involved in outlandish fight scenes, crippling and mutating body parts for fun.
Can the film’s emotional core help us connect with the action portions, or will the latter dominate and dilute the impact of the film’s interesting premise? Let’s wait and see. Baaghi 4 is slated for release on September 5, 2025.
