National Award-winning actor Dhanush takes on the lead role in Captain Miller, directed by Arun Matheswaran. The Telugu-dubbed version is set to grace theaters on January 26, 2024 while the Tamil version is already playing in cinemas.
Director Matheswaran, in anticipation of the release, emphasizes the exceptional cast, praising their stellar performances that intricately contribute authenticity and depth to the narrative. He notes, “Sundeep Kishan, a friend for over 12 years, is a remarkable addition to the cast. Despite a collaboration plan in 2012 that didn’t materialize, Sundeep readily agreed to portray Captain Rafiq, delivering a skillful and impactful performance.”
On a different note, lead actress Priyanka Arul Mohan, known for her acting prowess, initially faced challenges in portraying the rustic character Velmathi. However, her quick adaptation and surprising performance exceeded expectations. The director expresses his goal for female leads to astonish the audience with their characters, and Priyanka, embodying Velmathi, achieves this, adding a unique dimension to the film.
Captain Miller boasts a strong ensemble cast with Shiva Rajkumar, Niveditha Sathish, John Kokken, Vijayakan, and Edward Sonnenblick, recognised for his role in RRR. Sathya Jyothi Films funded the project, featuring tunes composed by GV Prakash Kumar.
