Idli Kadai is an upcoming Tamil rural drama film directed by versatile actor Dhanush. Apart from direction, the National Award-winning actor also plays the protagonist. Initially, the movie was supposed to release on April 10, clashing with Ajith’s Good Bad Ugly, but due to pending work, it was postponed.
Idli Kadai will now hit the big screens on October 1, 2025, capitalizing on the Dusshera holiday season. Another Tamil hero, Arun Vijay, plays the villain. The latest update reveals that Arjun Reddy heroine Shalini Pandey will play Dhanush’s sister and Arun Vijay’s wife in this rural entertainer. Idli Kadai is the second Tamil film for Shalini Pandey after 100% Kadhal (Remake of 100% Love).
Shalini has become selective over her film choices lately. We need to see what Dhanush has in store for us with Shalini’s role. Nithya Menen plays the female lead opposite Dhanush. Wunderbar Films and Dawn Pictures are jointly bankrolling the project, with GV Prakash Kumar composing the music. Idli Kadai is expected to be released in Telugu under the title Idli Kottu.
