Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi’s recently released pan-India romantic drama, Thandel, is turning out to be a huge success at the box office. The film collected a cool Rs 21.27 crore gross globally on its opening day. This is the highest-ever day one collection in Chay’s career.

A part of Thandel’s story takes place in Pakistan. And here’s an interesting story behind the real inspiration for Thandel. Apparently, a Pakistani police constable who is a huge fan of Tollywood star Allu Arjun serves as an inspiration for Thandel. The constable helped the Indian fishermen while they were languishing in the Pak prison. At the time of the fishermen’s release, the constable requested they get Allu Arjun’s autograph and send it to him.

Soon after the fishermen were released from Pakistan, they informed a person named Karthik about the Pakistani Allu Arjun fan. Karthik in turn met Allu Arjun’s friend and producer Bunny Vas and requested Allu Arjun’s autograph. Bunny Vas was fascinated by the entire story and decided to make Thandel and narrate the plight of Indian fishermen to the world.
