In what could be a devastating news, popular Hindi film actress Poonam Pandey passed away on February 1. The actress breathed her last on Thursday night in her hometown Kanpur after battling cervical cancer for several months. Poonam’s team took to social media and issued a statement regarding her passing.
“This morning is a tough one for us. Deeply saddened to inform you that we have lost our beloved Poonam to cervical cancer. Every living form that ever came in contact with her was met with pure love and kindness. In this time of grief, we would request for privacy while we remember her fondly for all that we shared,” read a post shared on Poonam’s official Instagram account.
The post went viral within no time, and Poonam’s fans and well-wishers from the film industry were left in a state of shock, while condolence messages have been pouring in from all quarters.
Poonam Pandey first gained attention when she promised to strip for Team India if they won the ICC World Cup in 2011. She made her Bollywood debut with Nasha in 2013 and went on to appear in films and shows such as Malini & Co, Khatron Ke Khiladi and Bigg Boss.
