Kantara: Chapter 1 is set to light up big screens from October 2, 2025. The movie directed and headlined by Rishab Shetty is slated for release in multiple languages, and the stakes are high. The theatrical trailer was launched recently.
According to reports, Rishab Shetty opted to take a share in the profits instead of remuneration since the prequel’s budget is much higher than Kantara’s. It is said that Rishab Shetty also spent money on the making besides directing and playing the lead.
We need to see if the prequel can repeat Kantara’s magic. Rukmini Vasanth played the leading lady, while Gulshan Devaiah essayed the antagonist. Jayaram, Rakesh Poojari, and others play supporting roles. Produced by Vijay Kiragandur of Hombale Films, the movie features music by Ajaneesh Loknath.
