Kollywood star Suriya’s last outing, Kanguva, was released amidst a lot of expectations but failed to make a significant box office impact. The film has now arrived on Amazon Prime Video. In the meantime, Suriya has teamed up with actor-turned-director RJ Balaji for his 45th movie, which had its pooja ceremony last month.
The movie is in the news again as the Oscar-winning music director A.R. Rahman is no longer working on the project. He has been replaced by the young sensation Sai Abhyankkar, known for hits like Katchi Sera and Aasa Kooda. An official announcement has been made by the makers.
This comes as a big shock to those who were hoping for a Suriya-ARR collaboration that would recreate the magic of 24, Sillunu Oru Kaadhal, and Yuva, all of which were musically successful.
Though the reason for A.R. Rahman’s exit is not known, many speculate that he wants to take a 6-month to 1-year break from signing new projects. He has also recently separated from his wife, Saira Bhanu, after 29 years of marriage.
