Coolie day 3 India box office – Collections see a dip

The Rajinikanth-starrer Coolie opened in cinemas on Thursday and received mixed reactions. Despite the talk, it pulled in more than Rs. 151 crore in global gross. Lokesh Kanagaraj helmed this actioner.

On Day 3, the domestic box office collections of Coolie slightly dropped compared to Day 2. On Day 2, the movie made around Rs. 55 crore gross, but on Day 3, it was close to Rs. 38 crore gross. The total so far stands at around Rs. 158 crore nett in India alone. Sunday is expected to outshine Saturday’s (Day 3) collections.

With War 2 in competition, the Rajini-starrer is facing challenges to score more than expected. How much more it can earn in the coming days remains to be seen.

Coolie is packed with stars like Nagarjuna, Upendra, Aamir Khan, Soubin Shahir, Shruti Haasan, and others. Anirudh composed the music for this Sun Pictures production.

Coolie day 2 collections: Rajini’s film continues to crush the box office

Superstar Rajinikanth’s latest outing, Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, is off to a flying start at the ticket windows. With a phenomenal Rs. 151 crore gross, Coolie is now the all-time biggest opener for a Tamil film worldwide, surpassing Leo. The film, however, received mixed reviews and word of mouth.

But that didn’t stop this Rajini starrer from posting impressive numbers on the second day. According to trade reports, Coolie raked in Rs. 86 crore gross globally on day two, taking its 2-day worldwide total to nearly Rs. 240 crore. In India alone, the film collected around Rs. 55 crore gross.

As expected, the Tamil version led the pack with Rs. 34 crore, followed by the Telugu and Hindi versions at Rs. 13.5 crore and Rs. 7.5 crore respectively. In overseas markets, Coolie earned Rs. 31 crore on day two. The film also features Nagarjuna, Soubin Shahir, Shruti Haasan, Aamir Khan, and Rachita Ram in pivotal roles.

Nizam day 2 box office: Coolie races ahead of War 2

Two big-ticket entertainers, War 2 and Coolie, locked horns at the box office this Thursday. While Coolie took the lead over War 2 globally, the NTR and Hrithik Roshan starrer posted higher numbers than the Rajinikanth starrer in the Telugu states, thanks to NTR’s immense star power.

Although War 2 outperformed Coolie at the Nizam box office on opening day, the tables turned on day 2, with Coolie taking a healthy lead over the Bollywood spy action thriller. Coolie earned a distributor share of Rs. 3.7 crore, while War 2 collected Rs. 3 crore share on the second day.

In the Nizam region, the 2-day collections stand at Rs. 7.85 crore share for Coolie and Rs. 7.25 crore share for War 2. Today and tomorrow are expected to be crucial for both films. With a major national holiday just passed, trade pundits predict drops for both films. Let’s see how War 2 and Coolie will perform in these two days.
