Jr. NTR’s brother-in-law, Narne Nithin, registered well with MAD franchise and Aay movies, has his first movie Sri Sri Sri Rajavaru released today in theaters. Directed by Satish Vegesna of Sathamanam Bhavati fame, the film is reportedly an adaptation of Tovino Thomas’ Theevandi (2018). Check out how the movie is.
Story:
Set in Atreyapuram, Andhra Pradesh, the film follows Raja (Narne Nithin), a habitual smoker who falls in love with Nitya (Sampada Hulivana). But what begins as a simple romance quickly turns complicated – his addiction not only strains their relationship but also puts his father’s public image at risk. With everything on the line, can Raja truly let go of his habit or will he end up losing everything that matters? The movie will give you the answers.
Plus Points:
Narne Nithin makes a decent start. He handles action scenes well and delivers his lines with confidence. Sampada Hulivana looks charming and has a fair share of screen presence, showing promise in a few moments.
Naresh and Rao Ramesh play their parts as expected, while comedian ‘Nellore’ Sudhakar brings some light moments, though they’re few and far between.
Minus Points:
The biggest issue is the predictability and lack of engaging storytelling. The trailer already reveals the main plot, and the film offers nothing new beyond that. It relies on clichés and preachy dialogues instead of genuine emotion or entertainment.
Director Satish Vegesna, known for his heartwarming touch, fails to recreate that magic here. The screenplay is filled with dragged-out, unnecessary scenes that test your patience. The comedy feels outdated, and the emotional beats fall flat.
The film suffers from characters who constantly moralize. Everyone speaks in punch lines and analogies – one jarring moment includes a character saying, “Quitting smoking is like giving up power. It’s impossible.” These kinds of forced dialogues make even the good lines go unnoticed.
Rao Ramesh plays a role we’ve seen him do countless times before – strict, disapproving father – with nothing fresh in his performance or character arc. There are many characters that do little to the story and its flow.
Overall, the film feels like it’s stuck in the past. The routine storytelling, slow pace, and tired tropes make it hard to stay invested.
Technical Aspects:
Satish Vegesna’s direction lacks the emotional depth and charm he’s known for. Cinematography by Damu Narravula is serviceable. Kailash Menon’s music is a minor relief but doesn’t leave a lasting impression. Editing by Madhu could have been far sharper – many scenes drag on unnecessarily. The production values are passable.
Verdict:
On the whole, Sri Sri Sri Rajavaru is a boring and outdated film that struggles to hold attention. Narne Nithin is fine, but the film doesn’t give him the platform he deserves. With recycled character arcs, dull narration, and hardly any engaging moments, this one is easy to skip. There are better options at the box office to look out for.
