Talented actor Naveen Chandra’s latest thriller, Blind Spot, is among the films that released in theaters this weekend. Check out our review to see how the movie fares.

Story:
Jayaram (Ravi Varma), a businessman from Hyderabad, quarrels with his wife, Divya (Rashi Singh), quite often. One day, after an argument, Divya allegedly dies by suicide under mysterious circumstances. Their maid Saraswati informs police officer Vikram (Naveen Chandra) about the incident. Vikram suspects it’s not a suicide but a murder. Who committed the murder? What was Divya’s mental condition? And how does the truth unfold in the end? Watch Blind Spot in cinemas to discover the truth.

Positive Points:
Blind Spot begins well and maintains a decent pace for the most time. The narrative meticulously sows suspicion on various characters, and a few twists were executed well. Naveen Chandra, as usual, comes up with a solid performance. He fits well in the role of a police officer on a mission, displaying good screen presence.

Ali Reza gets a meaty role, and the climax features a well-executed fight sequence and a twist that works well. Rashi Singh is convincing in her role and performs well. Ravi Varma and Gayathri Bhargavi also do justice to their roles.

Negative Points:

Blind Spot ends up being just another routine crime drama, similar to several movies that came before. Except for a couple of twists, the narrative doesn’t hold interest and feels simplistic and predictable.

Many scenes are too predictable. The logic and emotions in certain parts fall flat. Naveen Chandra’s character finds a crucial clue and promptly resolves the case, which is silly and illogical. Even the flashback episode lacks impact. The film ends up being formulaic and unoriginal due to such flaws.

Technical Aspects:

The production values are good, and the overall setup is decent. Sriram Madduri’s music is quite impressive, especially the background score, which enhances several crucial scenes. Darshan Ambat’s cinematography is praiseworthy. However, Satya G could have been a bit sharper on the edit table. Director Rakesh Varma doesn’t leave a lasting impression. He chose an ordinary murder mystery and struggled to pen an engaging screenplay throughout, barring a few scenes.

Verdict:

On the whole, Blind Spot ends up being a routine and predictable crime investigation drama. The performances by the lead actors are decent, and a couple of twists are well-executed. However, the film lacks engaging content and fizzles out soon without leaving a strong impression.
