Tollywood heartthrob Vijay Deverakonda scripted history by becoming the first-ever Telugu film star to receive the prestigious ‘Kantharao Film Award’ at the Gaddar Awards that were presented last night in Hyderabad. The award is named after the iconic yesteryear Telugu actor Kantharao, who hailed from Telangana.
Reflecting on receiving the prestigious honor, Vijay Deverakonda took to X and penned a heartfelt message. “Honoured. Happy and working hard to payback all the love and acknowledgment,” the young hero promised to his fans and well-wishers. Vijay also paid homage to the legendary actor, Kantha Rao, saying, “My respect to the late legendary Kantha Rao garu.”
Vijay also extended heartfelt gratitude to Telangana CM Revanth Reddy and Deputy CM Malli Bhatti Vikramarka for their warmth and affection at the awards ceremony last night. Icing on the cake was Vijay sharing a picture with one of his favorite stars, Allu Arjun, who received the Best Actor award for Pushpa 2: The Rule.
