Released on June 4, 2010, Allu Arjun, Anushka Shetty, and Manchu Manoj’s Vedam had set a new trend of hyperlink multi-starrers in the Telugu film industry. The film turned 15 yesterday, and its cast and crew members fondly remembered their experiences of Vedam.
Vedam director Krish recollected a crazy incident that took place before the film’s release. “As part of the film’s promotions, we had unveiled a giant hoarding featuring Anushka in a seductive pose. The hoarding became such a rage that it caused more than 40 accidents at the Punjagutta circle. We had to remove the hoarding after several police complaints were filed. That was the kind of massive impact Anushka had made with her character,” Krish revealed.
15 years after Vedam’s release, Anushka and Krish have reunited for the soon-to-release rural crime drama, Ghaati. The film is scheduled for release on July 11, 2025. Anushka will be seen in the titular role of a weed trader in this gripping thriller.
