War 2, the sequel to the superhit 2019 spy thriller War, is the sixth installment in the YRF Spyverse. The highly anticipated sequel features Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan and Tollywood star NTR.
On Sunday morning, Yash Raj Films’ X handle officially announced that War 2 will be hitting theaters worldwide on August 14, 2025, as an Independence Day treat. The announcement has cleared the rumors of War 2’s postponement following Hrithik’s recent injury during a dance rehearsal.
War 2 is being directed by Ayan Mukerji and produced by Aditya Chopra. The film follows Salman Khan’s Ek Tha Tiger (2012), Tiger Zinda Hai (2017), War (2019), Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan (2023), and Salman’s Tiger 3 (2023). Kiara Advani and Anil Kapoor also play lead roles in War 2.
