Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Sankranthi entertainer, Waltair Veerayya, has had a superb first week at the box offices allover the twin Telugu states. On the 7th day of its release, the film managed to collect a decent Rs 4.90 crore share in the Andhra, Nizam and Ceded regions.
In its first week, Waltair Veerayya collected a sensational Rs 80 crore theatrical share in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The film has surpassed the first week shares of Sarkaru Vaari Paata (Rs 79Cr), Saaho (Rs 75Cr), Vakeel Saab (Rs 72.5Cr and Bheemla Nayak (Rs 71Cr) to stand at number 6th spot in the list of all-time top first week grossers in Tollywood. The film is next only to top grossers like RRR (Rs 188CR), Baahubali 2 (118Cr), Ala Vaikunthapuramulo (Rs 88.5Cr), Sarileru Neekevvaru (Rs 85Cr) and Sye Raa (Rs 84.5Cr).
In Nizam, Waltair Veerayya collected a huge first week share of Rs 26.5 Cr (incl GST) and Rs 39.5 Cr in the Andhra region and another Rs 14 crore in Ceded, finally ending up with a total first week share of Rs 80 crore.
