Director Vivek Agnihotri has officially announced a title change for the third installment in his acclaimed Files trilogy. Originally titled The Delhi Files: The Bengal Chapter, the film will now be released as The Bengal Files: Right to Live.
The change comes in response to audience feedback, which, according to the director, played a key role in shaping the final title.
The film explores the brutal communal violence that took place in undivided Bengal during the 1940s, shedding light on major historical events such as Direct Action Day and the Noakhali riots.
Slated for a theatrical release on September 5, 2025, the film features veteran actors Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher, and Pallavi Joshi in prominent roles.
Backed by Tej Narayan Agarwal and I Am Buddha Productions, The Bengal Files: Right to Live continues Agnihotri’s politically charged storytelling, following the impactful The Kashmir Files and The Tashkent Files.
