The countdown begins for one of the most anticipated mythological dramas of the year—Kannappa. Starring Vishnu Manchu in the titular role, the film also features an ensemble cast including Prabhas, Mohan Babu, Mohanlal, and Kajal Aggarwal. The big-budget epic is set for a worldwide theatrical release on June 27, 2025, in multiple Indian languages.
In a recent interview, Vishnu Manchu shared exciting updates about the film’s final cut and key characters. According to him, Kannappa has a runtime of 3 hours and 10 minutes, locked after extensive edits. Interestingly, even Prabhas’ scenes were trimmed during the final editing process to maintain narrative pace.
Vishnu revealed that Prabhas plays a divine character who plays a vital role in the transformation of Kannappa, an atheist, on his spiritual journey toward enlightenment. His screen time, though trimmed, still clocks in at 30 minutes, and he shares impactful sequences with both Vishnu and Mohan Babu.
Another major highlight is Mohanlal’s character, which appears for just 15 minutes, but is said to deliver strong emotional weight to the story. Both these cameos are expected to elevate the film’s spiritual and cinematic depth.
The team also confirmed the release of Kannappa’s next track, “Sri-Kala-Hasti”, on May 28, 2025. The song is sung by Vishnu’s daughters, Ariaana Manchu and Viviana Manchu, with music composed by renowned musician Stephen Devassy. Given the emotional and devotional tone of the film, this track is expected to strike a chord with audiences.
Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh, Kannappa boasts an impressive lineup with actors like Akshay Kumar, Sarathkumar, Arpit Ranka, Preity Mukhundhan, and more in important roles. The project is jointly bankrolled by 24 Frames Factory and Ava Entertainment, marking it as one of the most ambitious pan-Indian mythological films in recent years.
With rich visuals, a powerful storyline, and a stellar cast, Kannappa is poised to be a landmark release in Tollywood’s 2025 calendar. Fans of Prabhas, Vishnu Manchu, and mythological epics are eagerly waiting to witness this spiritual saga unfold on the big screen.
