Vikram and Pa. Ranjith’s Thangalaan is coming to theatres on August 15th. The movie, based on real-life incidents in Kolar Gold Fields, features Malavika Mohanan as the antagonist. After conducting the pre-release event yesterday in Hyderabad, the team has interacted with Telugu media today.
During this press meet, Vikram made some interesting comments. Vikram said, “You would have watched Sarpatta Parambarai (Sarpatta Parampara in Telugu), right? Though boxing isn’t famous in Indian cinema, Pa. Ranjith dragged you into Sarpatta’s world. You got involved in the movie completely without thinking about oppression or ideology. You just enjoyed the movie. Thangalaan will be like that.”
Vikram added, “I loved Sarpatta Parambarai, but that is nothing compared to Thangalaan in terms of making and vision. I am not going overboard with my statement. You will understand it when you watch the film. Pa. Ranjith has done an extraordinary job handling multiple things. The movie has got amazing performers. We didn’t use cell phones during the making.”
