Vijay Deverakonda is busy with the promotions of his new film Kingdom, which will hit the screens on July 31, 2025. The makers arranged a press interaction ahead of the film’s release, and Vijay spoke his heart out about the film.

Going back in time, in one of his previous interviews, Vijay Deverakonda had spoken about nepotism and how hard it was for him to make it on his own, as he did not have any background in the film industry.

A short clip from that interview went viral, and he was trolled online for his comments on nepotism and for seemingly taking a dig at other stars.

When asked about the same during the press meet, Vijay clarified his statement. The talented actor said that his comments were misunderstood, and he only meant that, since no one in his family was connected to films, it was initially difficult for him to find his footing.

Citing his brother as an example, Vijay explained that Anand Deverakonda now has access to better resources and guidance, having observed Vijay’s journey closely and learned things the hard way. Vijay also emphasized that, in the end, talent is what sustains an actor in the industry—and without it, survival becomes very difficult.
