Vetrimaaran is currently busy with his upcoming project that features Simbu in the lead role. A small teaser will be launched on October 4, offering audiences a glimpse into the film’s world. Recently, Dhanush revealed that Vada Chennai 2 set to be directed by Vetrimaaran will kickstart in 2026.
Today, the director clarified that the much-awaited sequel will indeed take some more time. He also made it clear that his film with Simbu is not Vada Chennai 2. However, here comes the surprise. Vetrimaaran’s project with Simbu, tentatively titled #STR49, will be set in the Vada Chennai Universe.
The acclaimed filmmaker further mentioned that he would take up Vada Chennai 2 only after wrapping up his film with Simbu. Since #STR49 belongs to the Vada Chennai world, fans are speculating about a possible cameo from Dhanush. Whether that happens or not remains to be seen.
