Tollywood strike ends after 18 days; shootings to resume tomorrow

The 18-day-long strike by Employees’ Federation has officially come to an end today, following Telangana CM Revanth Reddy’s intervention and proactive discussions taken by the government. Both the producers and the Employees’ Federation reached an agreement, and the shootings are set to resume from tomorrow.

Ace producer Dil Raju expressed gratitude to the the honorable Chief Minister for acting swiftly in resolving the issue. He also thanked the Producers’ Council and the Employees’ Federation for their understanding, and lauded Gangadhar and the labor officials for ensuring the talks concluded successfully. He further added that CM Revanth Reddy has a vision to transform Hyderabad into a major film hub.

As part of the resolution, cine workers will receive a 22.5% overall wage hike, with adjustments based on different pay ratios. The hike will be implemented in three phases:15% in the first year, 2.5% in the second year, and 5% in the third year.

Along with this, several workers’ demands have also been accepted. For the remaining conditions, a committee under the Principal Secretary will be formed, which will submit its report within a month.

Employees’ Federation President Anil Vallabhaneni thanked the government, the labor department, and especially the Labor Commissioner for their decisive role in putting things back on track. He acknowledged that while the union usually resolves such issues internally, this time the government’s intervention proved crucial.
