Actor, politician, and philanthropist Nandamuri Balakrishna has been honored by the government of India with the prestigious Padma Bhushan, the country’s third highest civilian award. Balayya has been honored with the Padma for his immense contribution to society for over five decades.
While millions of fans are celebrating Balayya’s special achievement, popular Tollywood celebs like Chiranjeevi, Mahesh Babu, NTR, Ravi Teja, Kalyan Ram, Balayya’s directors Bobby Kolli, Anil Ravipudi, Gopichand Malineni, and Maruthi, and producers Dil Raju, Naga Vamsi, and Mythri Movie Makers, DVV Danayya, and several others congratulated Balayya on the Padma honor and hailed the actor-politician’s selfless service to the society through cinema and politics over the years.
Balayya made his acting debut as a child artist with Thathamma Kala in 1974. Since then, the 64-year-old has acted in more than 100 movies. In 2014, Balayya forayed into active politics by winning the Hindupur Assembly Constituency in the 2014 general election.
