Naga Chaitanya is aiming to score his career-biggest hit with Thandel. The film, directed by Chandoo Mondeti, features dancing sensation Sai Pallavi as the female lead. Lately, songs have become crucial in deciding a film’s opening, and Thandel scored a sixer in this aspect. Three songs composed by Devi Sri Prasad have become chartbusters.
Today, the team launched the theatrical trailer, and the film looks like a neat blend of romance and patriotism elements. Raju (Naga Chaitanya) is a fisherman who is head over heels for a girl played by Sai Pallavi. The female lead is worried about what the villagers will think about her relationship with Raju. This is when the protagonist is elected as the leader(Thandel) among the Srikakulam fishermen.
Raju and his fellow fishermen go to Gujarat for fishing, and unexpectedly, they enter the Pakistani waters. Ultimately, they end up landing in Karachi jail, where they are ill-treated. Raju is someone who has high regard for his country, and he doesn’t bow down to the Pakistani police. On the other hand, Sai Pallavi tries to free Raju and others from jail.
Did Raju and his friends come back to India? What challenges did the fishermen face in Pakistan? Did Raju marry his lady love? The answers will be known on February 7. Bunny Vas seems to have spent huge bucks on this flick. Notably, the production design team did a fabulous job in creating the jail set.
Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi’s chemistry looks solid, and DSP’s music is pretty good. From the trailer it is evident that the film will have some intense and hard-hitting moments, evoking a strong sense of patriotism. Will the movie live up to all the hype? Let’s see.
