Legendary Malayalam actor Mammootty scored a superhit with Kannur Squad. After a series of failures, Mammootty found success with his crime thriller. The film marks the directorial debut of cinematographer Roby Varghese Raj. There was a low buzz before the release, but that didn’t have much impact, as Kannur Squad is a content-rich film.
The latest buzz on social media is that the film will be available for streaming from 10th November on Disney Plus Hotstar. Neither the makers nor the OTT platform have given an official confirmation as of now, but the buzz has gone viral. The movie went on to gross more than 100 crores gross at the worldwide box office.
Kannur Squad is now the sixth highest-grossing Malayalam film. Kishore, Vijayaraghavan, Rony David Raj, Azeez Nedumangad, Shabareesh Varma, and Sarath Sabha played pivotal roles. Mammootty produced Kannur Squad under the banner of Mammootty Kampany. Sushin Shyam provided the tunes.
