The Telugu film industry has lost another beloved actor. After the recent passing of Kota Srinivasa Rao Garu, and the death of Ravi Teja’s father Rajagopal Raju, the industry is grieving again as popular comedian Fish Venkat has passed away. His real name was Mangalampalli Venkatesh, and he died on July 18, 2025, at the age of 53 due to kidney and liver failure.

Fish Venkat was well known for his Telangana accent and natural comic timing. He appeared in more than 100 Telugu films. He was introduced by the late Dasari Narayana Rao Garu in the film Sammakka Sarakka. He later gained popularity with roles in Kushi, Bunny, Adhurs, Gabbar Singh, DJ Tillu, Slum Dog Husband, Coffee with a Killer, and other recent projects.

Venkat had been suffering from serious health issues for several months. He was on dialysis and eventually moved to a ventilator when his condition worsened. His daughter, Shravanthi, made a public appeal asking for financial help for a kidney transplant that was estimated to cost around Rs. 50 lakh.

There were false reports that actor Prabhas had extended financial help. Venkat’s family later clarified that this was part of a scam involving someone impersonating a member of Prabhas’s team. However, actors like Pawan Kalyan, who donated Rs. 2 lakh, Vishwak Sen, and a Telangana state minister did offer genuine support. Sadly, no suitable kidney donor was found.

Venkat is survived by his wife and three children. His passing has left fans and industry colleagues heartbroken. The Telugu film industry remembers him for his unique presence and contribution to comedy. We at 123Telugu extend our deepest condolences to the family of Fish Venkat.
