Popular Sandalwood actor-filmmaker Rishab Shetty’s Kantara scripted history by amassing over a whopping Rs 400 crore gross at the box office. The film’s highly anticipated prequel, Kantara Chapter 1, is currently underway in full swing.
And here’s an exciting buzz. Apparently, Kantara makers are planning to turn the two-part franchise into a full-fledged universe. Producer Vijay Kiragandur of Hombale Films is rumored to be in plans to make a third part sometime next year. However, the third part may not feature Rishab Shetty, neither as the main lead or director, as per the ongoing buzz. An official announcement is awaited to confirm this crazy speculation.
In Kantara Chapter 1, Rishab Shetty will be seen as a Naga Sadhu who possesses supernatural powers. The film’s story is said to be set in the Kadamba Dynasty period. The film is slated for release on October 2 on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. Sapthami Gowda, Jayaram, Kishore, Jayasurya, and Jisshu Sengupta will be seen in prominent roles.
