It’s well known that the shady and tumultuous life of popular South Indian adult film actress, Shakeela, is being made as a biopic titled Shakeela. Popular Bollywood actress Richa Chadha is reprising Shakeela’s role in the biopic, which will release in Hindi, Telugu and Malayalam.
Today, Shakeela’s makers unveiled the film’s first look poster. The poster showcases Richa as Shakeela festooned with gold ornaments, as derogatory comments are scribbled in the background. “Not a p*rn star” is the film’s tagline.
Shakeela is famous for A rated movies made in the late 80s and 90s in Malayalam and Telugu film industries. She had quit adult movies and took to character roles in mainstream cinema. Noted Kannada filmmaker Indrajith Lankesh is directing the film, which will be released in the first half of 2019.
