Malayalam children’s fantasy drama Barroz, fronted by Mohanlal, should have hit the screens in 2023, but the film was postponed several times due to delays in the post-production works. Multiple release dates were announced, but Barroz couldn’t make it to the screens to date. Mohanlal is also the director of this big-budget film.
The latest news is that the makers are planning to bring the film to the theatres on December 19th during the Christmas season. Kerala theatre owners and overseas distributors have been informed about the release plan, and we will soon receive the official announcement from the makers.
Barroz’s plot and screenplay was written by Jijo Punnoose based on his novel Barroz: Guardian of D’Gama’s Treasure. Barroz was bankrolled by Antony Perumbavoor of Aashirvad Cinemas. The movie stars Mohanlal in the titular role, with Maya, Cesar Lorente Raton, Kallirroi Tziafeta, Tuhin Menon, and Guru Somasundaram playing significant roles.
