Bollywood actress Shraddha Kapoor was last seen in the mega blockbuster Stree 2. The actress has been choosing her scripts carefully, and according to a recent report in Mid-day, she will soon headline a fantasy film tentatively titled Pahadpangira. Directed by Rahi Anil Barve, the movie is said to explore themes of feminism against the backdrop of the Sati practice and will be produced by Ekta Kapoor.
The report mentioned, “Pahadpangira is a dark fantasy rooted in myth and folklore. Shraddha is taken by the story’s originality and believes it can be expanded into a franchise. Besides fronting it, she may serve as a creative producer on it.”
For the uninitiated, Rahi Anil Barve directed the critically acclaimed Tumbbad, regarded as one of the best horror thrillers in Indian cinema. Interestingly, Rahi Anil initially envisioned Pahadpangira as part of the Tumbbad universe, but the plan was later dropped after he parted ways with producer-actor Sohum Shah.
