Director Gunasekhar’s ambitious mythological magnum opus, Shaakuntalam, has been a hot topic ever since its announcement a couple of months ago. Shaakuntalam is based on the epic tale of love from the Adi Parva of the Mahabharata.
Needless to say, there have been several speculations about the actress who will be playing Shakunthala. According to the latest buzz, Gunasekhar has approached star heroine Pooja Hegde for the titular role in the movie. However, the director is yet to make a formal announcement regarding the actors.
Gunasekhar will be taking Shaakuntalam to sets next summer. More updates on the movie will be out in the next few weeks.
