SS Rajamouli may be one of the biggest directors in the world, but he remains a true lover of cinema. Known for taking time to appreciate good films, Rajamouli recently watched a Tamil movie that’s quietly creating a buzz – Tourist Family, which released alongside Suriya’s Retro, and stars Sasikumar and Simran in lead roles.
Despite being a small-budget film, Tourist Family left a big impression on Rajamouli, who shared his thoughts on social media: “Saw a wonderful, wonderful film Tourist Family. Heartwarming and packed with rib-tickling humor. And kept me intrigued from beginning till end. Great writing and direction by Abishan Jeevinth. Thank you for the best cinematic experience in recent years. Don’t miss it.”
The film’s young director, Abishan Jeevinth, was stunned by the unexpected praise: “Still in disbelief… I watched his films with stars in my eyes, never imagining that one day, the man who built those worlds would speak my name. Rajamouli sir, you’ve made this boy’s dream larger than life,” he wrote emotionally.
With over Rs. 50 crore already collected in Tamil Nadu, the film is clearly striking a chord. If it gets released in other languages, especially Telugu, there’s a strong chance it could reach even more audiences and win hearts beyond its home state. Here’s hoping the film finds the wider recognition it truly deserves.
Thank you so much, @ssrajamouli sir! Your tweet was such a wonderful surprise, it truly made our day even more special. Grateful beyond words :) https://t.co/n5kx39PE5c
