Soorarai Pottru (Aakasam Ne Haddu Ra in Telugu), starring Suriya in the lead role and directed by female filmmaker Sudha Kongara won the hearts of many. The movie, which is a partial biopic of Air Deccan founder G.R.Gopinath released directly on Amazon Prime Video due to the pandemic. The movie fetched Suriya and the film’s leading lady Aparna Balamurali best actor and best actress National Awards and has also won the Best Feature Film award.
It is known that the movie is getting remade in Hindi, starring Akshay Kumar. Sudha Kongara herself is directing this Hindi remake which stars Radhika Madan and Paresh Rawal in other crucial roles. The latest update is that the movie will hit the screens on September 1, 2023. The makers released a poster to announce the same.
The untitled remake is produced together by Suriya, Jyotika, Aruna Bhatia, and Vikram Malhotra. Suriya, apart from producing the film, is doing a cameo. Akshay has been in a bad phase of late, and it needs to be seen how this remake fares in theatres.
