S S Rajamouli’s Baahubali has embroiled in a new controversy and this time, a Karnataka based Jain Mutt has filed a complaint on the film saying that the film has hurt their religious sentiments. The organisation is objecting to the film’s title ‘Baahubali’, who is a revered figure in Jainism and in the complaint, the Jain Mutt has also pointed out that the excessive violence in the film will give a wrong impression about Baahubali to the general audience.

However, Shobu Yarlagadda, who is producing the film, has quashed the rumours and categorically denied the news that the film is inspired from the real story of Baahubali. Talking to a leading newspaper, he said, “I haven’t seen the complaint yet; however, I can confirm that Baahubali is a fictional story and it has got nothing to do with the story of Jain guru Baahubali, who is worshipped as Gomateshwara.”

Currently, a huge battle sequence is being filmed on Prabhas and Rana Daggubati. The film also stars Anushka and Tamannaah in lead roles. M M Keeravani is scoring the music and Arka Mediaworks is producing this big budget period action film.
