Numero uno director SS Rajamouli’s 2010 action comedy entertainer, Maryada Ramanna, was a huge blockbuster at the box office. The film was later remade in Hindi as Son of Sardar. Starring Bollywood star Ajay Devgan, Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha and Juhi Chawla in lead roles, SOS released in 2012 and ended up as a successful project.
Now, after almost 11 years since its release, Son of Sardar is all set to get a sequel. SOS 2 is currently in the scripting stage, and it is expected to feature Ajay Devgan, Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha and Juhi Chawla once again. The filming will begin in May next year. Details about the film’s director and other cast and crew members will be out later this year.
Interestingly, Ajay Devgan will follow up SOS 2 with Raid 2, the sequel to his 2018 thriller, Raid, in which he played an Income Tax Department official. After a slew of remakes of South movies, it looks like it’s now time for sequels and franchise movies in Bollywood.
