Bollywood’s latest romantic drama, Saiyaara, has turned out to be a monumental blockbuster. Starring newcomers Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, and directed by Mohit Suri, Saiyaara became the second Indian movie this year, after Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava, to cross the Rs. 500 crore gross mark globally. Before the release, who would have even imagined in their wildest dreams that a debutant-led film could achieve such a feat, but this YRF-backed project did the unthinkable.
Following its sensational theatrical run, it now appears the romantic entertainer will make its OTT debut on September 12 on Netflix. While there’s been no official confirmation yet, YRF’s casting director, Shanoo Sharma, reshared a post on her Instagram story which claimed that the film will premiere digitally on that date.
Sharma’s story also hinted that Saiyaara is following the eight-week theatrical window rule. The story follows Krish Kapoor, a troubled musician, who forms a deep connection with Vaani Batra, a shy poet. The movie’s soulful soundtrack also played a pivotal role in its box office success.
