Ponniyin Selvan 1, the period action drama, raked in more than 500 crores at the worldwide box office. This Mani Ratnam’s directorial has an ensemble cast of Vikram, Aishwarya Rai, Karthi, Trisha, Jayam Ravi, Shobita Dhulipala, and Aishwarya Lekshmi in key roles. The second part is all set to hit the big screens on 28th April.
Now rumors about the film’s runtime have sprung up on social media. Accordingly, the movie is said to be 157 minutes (2 hours and 37 minutes) long. This is expected considering the genre of the movie. To note, the first part was 2 hours and 46 minutes long. We need to see if there will be any change in the final runtime.
Produced by Lyca Productions along with Madras Talkies, the movie is based on the novel Ponniyin Selvan written by Kalki Krishnamurthy. AR Rahman composed the tunes. The first part didn’t have a unanimous response across languages, and it needs to be seen how the second part performs.
