With the sports comedy-drama Sitaare Zameen Par, Bollywood star Aamir Khan has made a strong comeback. After a few disappointing outings, this film has brought him back into the numbers game. Aamir has proven that it’s not only action films that can succeed at the box office.
On Friday, Sitaare Zameen Par was the first choice for moviegoers, as RS Prasanna’s directorial collected around Rs. 6.5 crores nett on its second Friday, outperforming the two new releases, F1 and Maa. The strong hold on its second Friday suggests that the film has been well accepted by the audience.
With today’s numbers, Sitaare Zameen Par is poised to reach the Rs. 100 crore nett mark in India. This is a remarkable number for a non-action film post-pandemic. The movie started with just about Rs. 10 crores and went from strength to strength each passing day. At this pace, Sitaare Zameen Par should comfortably cross Rs. 150 crore nett in the long run. Genelia Deshmukh played the leading lady.
