Ram Charan’s romantic drama, Orange, bombed at the box office upon its theatrical release in 2010. However, the film went on to earn cult status thanks to a superhit soundtrack composed by Harris Jayaraj. Nearly after 15 years since its theatrical debut, the Bommarillu Bhaskar directorial is set to re-release in cinemas across the twin Telugu states today.
In a massive feat that reiterates Ram Charan’s star power and the craze for Orange among Mega fans, Orange’s advance bookings have surpassed the pre-sales of both the latest Valentine’s Day releases – Vishwak Sen’s Laila and Brahmanandam’s Brahma Anandam.
Many shows of Orange at the single screens and multiplexes across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are either sold out or fast-filling. On the other hand, Laila and Brahma Anandam are struggling to get decent footfalls. While Laila has been severely impacted by the boycott calls and targeted attacks on social media, Brahma Anandam heavily banks on critics’ reviews to make its presence felt at the box office.
