The inaugural edition of the Archery Premier League (APL), organized by the Archery Association of India (AAI), is set to kickstart with a massive opening ceremony on 2nd October 2025 at 7 PM at Yamuna Sports Complex, Anand Vihar, New Delhi. Megapower Star Ram Charan, the league’s Brand Ambassador, will grace the grand event and inaugurate this landmark sporting league.
The first-of-its-kind franchise-based tournament will bring together India’s best archers along with top international talent, aiming to elevate the sport’s stature nationally and globally. Featuring six competitive franchises, the league will see 36 of India’s leading recurve and compound archers competing alongside 12 elite international athletes, including some ranked in the world’s top 10.
For the first time in world archery, the APL introduces a unique mixed format where recurve and compound archers will compete together under lights. This format is aimed at enhancing the sport’s spectator appeal. The tournament, scheduled from 2nd to 12th October 2025 at the Yamuna Sports Complex, New Delhi, has received strong backing from World Archery, World Archery Asia, and the Sports Ministry of India.
With the Archery Association of India driving this initiative and Ram Charan lending his global influence, the Archery Premier League promises to be a turning point for Indian archery.
