Pushpa 2 premiere tragedy: Cops arrest Sandhya 70mm owner and managers

The Chikkadpally Police today arrested the owner and managers of the iconic Sandhya 70mm theater in connection with the unfortunate death of a woman during the premiere of Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2: The Rule on December 4. The actor’s visit to the theater had led to a stampede that eventually claimed the life of 35-year-old Revathi and severely injured her son Sreetej (13).

Soon after the tragic incident, the Chikkadpally Police booked Allu Arjun, his security team, and the theater management under sections 105 (Culpable homicide not amounting to murder) and 118(1) (Voluntarily causing hurt) r/w 3(5) BNS. Today, the cops arrested the theater owner, general manager, and security manager of the Sandhya 70mm theater. They were produced before the court, which remanded them to judicial custody.

According to the police, the theater management didn’t inform them about Allu Arjun’s visit during Pushpa 2’s premiere. Furthermore, the management did not make any additional provisions regarding security to control the massive crowd. On the other hand, on December 6, a deeply heartbroken Allu Arjun released a video in which he expressed his deepest condolences and offered financial assistance of Rs 25 lakh for the victim’s family.
