Mani Ratnam’s prestigious project Ponniyin Selvan 2 has arrived in theatres a couple of days back. Seven months after the first part’s release, the sequel has hit the screens. The star-studded action drama received positive reviews from critics. The word of mouth has also been good.
In its two days, the film has amassed a whopping 100 crores. The production team gave the official announcement a few hours ago. Given the positive talk, the film is expected to have a long run. To note, the first part amassed 500 crores gross at the worldwide box office. It has to be seen if the sequel can touch this magical mark.
Chiyaan Vikram, Aishwarya Rai, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Trisha, Prakash Raj, Sobhita Dhulipala, Parthiban, Rehman, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Jayaram, Sarathkumar, and others played vital roles. AR Rahman composed the tunes. Madras Talkies, in association with Lyca Productions, bankrolled this heavy-budget flick.
