Given the latest developments in the industry, the Office of the Honourable Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh has issued a public statement with several directives. The coalition government made it clear that the cinema halls should be operated in a regulated manner.

Pawan Kalyan stated that even if it’s his movie, the proposal to increase ticket prices must go through the Film Chamber before approaching the government. He probed an investigation to uncover the forces behind the theater shutdown. The DCM office stated that action would be taken against all the individuals involved in creating the undesirable situation.

Pawan made it clear that even Jana Sena members would not be spared if they created any issues. Proving that he is a man of his word, Pawan Kalyan suspended the Rajamundry Jana Sena In- charge, Athhi Satyanarayana, who is allegedly behind the group that tried to shut down the theatres.

Pawan Kalyan also directed officials to regularly inspect the quality standards of food and beverages and gave permits to take necessary action if necessary. The government felt that the high snacks and drink prices were also restricting audiences from coming to the theatres.

It was also stated that under the proposed ‘Comprehensive Film Development Policy of the Andhra Pradesh Government’, suggestions aimed at the growth and development of the film industry should be actively gathered from associations and bodies within the Telugu film industry. These include the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce, Producers’ Council, Movie Artists Association, and Directors’ Association.
