This weekend is set to be a treat for OTT viewers, as two new films of star heroine Rashmika Mandanna are gearing up to take the digital space by storm. Her recent Bollywood venture, Thamma, a horror-comedy entertainer also starring Ayushmann Khurrana, has already arrived on Prime Video on a rental basis in both Hindi and Telugu.
The film received a decent response in theatres and is now expected to amuse OTT audiences as well. Rashmika’s latest Tollywood outing, The Girlfriend, stirred widespread discussion online for its portrayal of modern-day toxic relationships. Directed by National Award–winning filmmaker Rahul Ravindran, the movie also had a decent run at the box office.
The Girlfriend is scheduled to premiere on Netflix on December 5 in major Indian languages. It will be a feast for Rashmika Mandanna’s fans, as both of her recent films are arriving on OTT in the same week. Rashmika was lauded for her performances in Thamma and The Girlfriend, and both films are expected to gain solid traction on OTT.
