This August, OTT platforms are serving up a rich variety of content, from intense dramas to fun rom-coms and gripping thrillers. Whether you prefer action, family stories, or political intrigue, there’s plenty to watch from the comfort of your couch.
Thammudu:
Nithiin’s latest film, Thammudu, directed by Venu Sriram and produced by Dil Raju, did not fare well at the box office. However, it is now streaming on Netflix from August 1, 2025, in multiple languages.
3BHK:
Siddharth’s Tamil film 3BHK, directed by Sri Ganesh, was a hit in Tamil and achieved moderate success in Telugu. This middle-class emotional drama is now available on Amazon Prime Video in both Tamil and Telugu.
Sitaare Zameen Par:
Aamir Khan’s Sitaare Zameen Par takes a different release route by skipping traditional OTT platforms. Instead, it is available for rental on YouTube at ₹100. Directed by RS Prasanna, with Genelia Deshmukh in a key role, the film is available in Hindi only.
Housefull 5A & 5B:
The star-studded fifth installment of the Housefull franchise offers two alternate endings, titled 5A and 5B. Directed by Tarun Mansukhani, the film features Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, Jacqueline Fernandez, and others. It is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video, but only in Hindi, which may limit its reach to other language audiences.
Wednesday Season 2 – Part 1:
Three years after its breakout first season, Wednesday returns with Jenna Ortega reprising her role as Wednesday Addams. In Season 2, she must further develop her psychic abilities while confronting a new villain threatening Enid. The first four episodes will premiere as Part 1 on Netflix on August 6, 2025, in English, Telugu, and other regional languages.
Mayasabha:
Mayasabha, a political drama series created by Deva Katta, stars Chaitanya Rao and Aadhi Pinisetty. It delves into the fallout between Naidu and Reddy, two childhood friends from powerful political families. The series will stream on Sony LIV from August 7, 2025.
Arabia Kadali:
Amazon Prime Video is launching the new Telugu series Arabia Kadali, starring Satya Dev and Anandhi. The story seems inspired by Naga Chaitanya’s Thandel, but with a different treatment under creator Krish Jagarlamudi and director Surya Kumar. It will premiere on August 8, 2025, in multiple languages.
Mothevari Love Story:
Anil Geela, known for his YouTube videos, makes his OTT debut in Mothevari Love Story, a rustic romance set in a village. Directed by Shiva Krishna Burra and starring Varshini, this series premieres on ZEE5 on August 8, 2025.
Maaman:
The surprise Tamil box office hit Maaman, starring Soori and Aishwarya Lekshmi, is a family drama that struck a chord with audiences. It will premiere on ZEE5 on August 8, 2025, and a Telugu-dubbed version is also likely.
Salakaar:
Salakaar, an intense Hindi drama starring Naveen Kasturia, Mouni Roy, and Mukesh Rishi, arrives on Jio Hotstar on August 8, 2025. Currently, there is no update regarding a Telugu-dubbed version.
Oho Enthan Baby:
This Tamil romantic drama stars Rudra (Vishnu Vishal’s younger brother) and Mithila Palkar. Oho Enthan Baby will be released on Netflix in multiple languages, including Telugu, on August 8, 2025.
