Mohanlal made history by delivering two consecutive Rs. 200 crore grossers with L2: Empuraan and Thudarum, a rare feat in Malayalam cinema. Thudarum even surpassed the much-hyped L2: Empuraan in Kerala and emerged as the first Rs. 100 crore grosser in the state. The crime thriller is still drawing audiences to the theatres.
Due to the remarkable run, its digital release was slightly pushed back. Jio Hotstar, which holds Thudarum’s post-theatrical streaming rights, has now announced that the movie will be available for streaming from May 30. The Mohanlal starrer will stream in Malayalam, Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, and Kannada languages from the said date. The theatrical window is five weeks.
Tharun Moorthy directed the movie, which also stars Sobhana, Prakash Varma, Farhan Faasil, Maniyanpilla Raju, Binu Pappu, Irshad Ali, and Aarsha Chandini Baiju in significant roles. Thudarum was bankrolled by M. Renjith under the banner of Rejaputhra Visual Media. Jakes Bejoy composed the tunes.
