OTT giant Netflix is set to release the Tamil sports drama Test this Friday (April 4, 2025), starring R. Madhavan, Nayanthara, Siddharth, and Meera Jasmine in lead roles. Directed by S. Sashikanth, the film skips a theatrical release and heads straight to streaming.
Despite its star-studded cast, Test has generated little to no buzz. The recently released trailer failed to create excitement, and audience interest remains low. Industry whispers suggest that the makers lacked confidence in the film’s box office potential, leading to its direct OTT release.
With the film debuting in multiple languages, it remains to be seen whether it can defy expectations and find an audience digitally. Chakravarthy Ramachandra and S. Sashikanth produced the project, while Shakthisree Gopalan composed the music.
