The teaser for Prabhas and Kriti Sanon-starrer pan-Indian mythological epic, Adipurush, was trolled heavily by fans due to the unexpectedly poor visual effects. Several cases were filed by Hindu group leaders against Adipurush makers for the improper and outlandish depiction of lord Rama, goddess Sita, lord Hanuman and the demon king Raavan in the Om Raut directorial.
Initially, Adipurush was supposed to hit the big screens worldwide on January 12, 2023. However, following the intense backlash after the teaser launch, the makers had postponed the film’s release to June 16, 2023. In a recent interview, director Om Raut has opened up about the decision to postpone the release and how the extra time has helped in bettering the VFX.
Om Raut said that the challenges they have been facing will only make the movie better and journey stronger. He went on to add that Adipurush is a first of its kind in India. He went on to reveal that the technology used in Hollywood blockbusters from Marvel, DC and Avatar was used in Adipurush. The director concluded saying that presenting the epic Ramayan to the current generation is a huge responsibility.
