Sonal Chauhan has come on board for Mirzapur: The Film. The actress shared the news on Instagram, posting a short note along with a letter from the producers. Her announcement put an end to recent speculation about her involvement in the big-screen version of the hit crime drama.
In her post, Sonal wrote, “Still sinking in… So glad to be a part of a journey so incredible and game-changing. I’m immensely excited to join Mirzapur: The Film, and I can’t wait for you all to see what we have to unpack on the screen.” The post drew warm reactions from fans and fellow actors, many calling it a perfect addition to the Mirzapur universe.
The film is directed by Gurmmeet Singh and produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani under Excel Entertainment, in association with Amazon MGM Studios. With Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, and Divyenndu Sharma returning, the film promises to take the Mirzapur story to a bigger scale and introduce new characters.
Now in production, Mirzapur: The Film is headed for a theatrical release in 2026. Sonal’s inclusion adds fresh curiosity around the project, which aims to carry the franchise’s trademark mix of power, revenge, and dark humor to the big screen.
